ቡሄ | BUHE

BUHE is Ethiopia’s core tradition of the celebration of light and joy for generations; dedicated to the transfiguration of Jesus Christ to light in His God form on mount tabor; (Mathew 17).

BUHE (pronounced as BU - HAY) is an Ethiopian language word : which means " a bright shining light".

BUHE [ቡሄ] = የበራ ፤ የደመቀ ፤ የጎላ - ከሚለው ትርጓሜ በመነሳት ፡ ጌታችን መድኅኒታችን እየሱስ ክርስቶስ በብርሃነ መለኮትነቱ ሲገለጥ በደብረ ታቦር የነበረውን የጎላ የደመቀ ብርኃንነቱን አስመልክቶ፣ በኢትዮጲያ ለዘመናት ሲከበር የነበረ ፣ እና አሁንም ወደፊትም የሚከበር ልዩ የኢትዮጲያ የብርኃን በዓል ቀን ነው።

BUHE FEST is a family fun festival dedicated to the transfiguration of Jesus Christ to light in His God form on mount tabor; as a celebration of light and joy - Ethiopia’s core tradition for generations.

Join us on August 16, 2025 for the 3rd annual BUHE FEST, to have and immersive cultural experience of the greatest variety of traditional games, family fun activities, food, coffee, art, crafts and musical showcase that is fit for the entire family; including grandparents, children, and toddlers.

Make Mulmul Workshop

ሙልሙል እንስራ

BUHE FEST invites all families to participate in the wrapping of dough with banana leaves and baking of mul-mul [ ሙልሙል ] bread outdoor, as done in the Ethiopian traditional way at the BUHE FEST @ The Farm Festival 2025. [ Mul-mul wrapping is open to all ages. Baking is open to all ages 8 and above.]

አብራችሁን ሙልሙል መስራት ለምትወዱ በሙሉ ተሰብስበን ሙልሙል በኮባ እንጠቅልል። እንጨት አቀጣጥለን በብረት ምጣድ ሙልሙል እንጋግር።

Coffee Ceremony Workshop ባህላዊ ቡና እናፍላ

Join us for an exceptionally one of a kind traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony workshop featuring cultural representation from north, east, west, and south of Ethiopia. Learn how to make Ethiopian coffee the traditional way from different regions of Ethiopia at the BUHE FEST @ The Farm Festival 2025. Open to all ages 13 and older.
